How do I export a conversation?

Navigate to any supported AI platform (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.), open the conversation you want to export, click the Migrate My AI Chat extension icon in your toolbar, select your preferred format (JSON, CSV, Markdown, or PDF), and click "Export from active tab." Your file will be downloaded instantly.

How do I continue a conversation on another AI?

After exporting, simply click any of the "Continue On" buttons (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini). The extension will automatically open the target platform and paste your conversation context into the prompt field, ready to continue.

Which AI platforms are supported?

We currently support ChatGPT, Claude, Google Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot, and Xiaomi MiMo. We are actively adding more platforms based on user feedback.

Is my data safe? Do you store my conversations?

Absolutely. Migrate My AI Chat operates 100% locally inside your browser. Your conversations are never sent to our servers. We have zero access to your chat content. All processing happens on-device using Chrome's built-in storage APIs. Please read our Privacy Policy for full details.

How do I activate my Pro license?

After purchasing a Pro or Lifetime plan, you will receive a license key via email. Open the extension, click the settings icon (⚙️), and enter your license key in the "Activate License" field. Your Pro features will unlock immediately.

I lost my license key. How do I recover it?

Click "Restore License" in the extension settings, or visit the Customer Portal with the email address you used during purchase. You can retrieve your license key and manage your subscription from there.

The extension is not working on a specific platform. What should I do?

AI platforms occasionally update their interfaces, which can temporarily affect our extension. Please try the following: (1) Refresh the page. (2) Ensure the extension is up to date. (3) Disable other extensions that might conflict. If the issue persists, contact us with the platform name and a brief description of the problem.

Does the extension require an API key?

No. Migrate My AI Chat uses deep dynamic DOM parsing to extract conversations directly from the page. You never need to provide an API key or pay for external API credits.

Troubleshooting

Extension icon is grayed out

The extension only activates on supported AI platforms. Make sure you are on one of the supported sites (chatgpt.com, claude.ai, gemini.google.com, etc.) and that the page has fully loaded.

Export downloads an empty file

This usually means the conversation hasn't fully loaded in the DOM. Scroll through the entire conversation first to ensure all messages are rendered, then try exporting again.

"Continue On" pastes but text doesn't appear in the prompt

Some AI platforms use strict security policies. Try clicking into the prompt box after the extension pastes the text. If the issue continues, please report it to us so we can update our injection engine.
