1. Zero-Knowledge Architecture

Migrate My AI Chat was built with privacy as the foundational principle. The core functionality of the Chrome Extension—migrating chats between platforms—is performed entirely locally on your device. We do not extract, intercept, read, or store any of your chat logs, prompts, or sensitive conversations. We have no backend servers processing your chats.

2. What Information We Collect

Because of our strict local-only processing approach, data collection is minimal:

  • Anonymous Product Analytics: The extension sends allowlisted feature-usage and reliability events to our US-hosted PostHog project. Analytics is enabled by default and uses a random installation identifier to measure funnels and retention. We never include chat content, prompts, responses, conversation titles, URLs, account details, license keys, or payment identifiers. You can disable analytics at any time in the extension settings; opting out deletes the local analytics identifier and queued events.
  • Payment Information: If you purchase a premium license, your payment is processed securely by our Merchant of Record, Polar.sh. We do not store or process your credit card numbers. Polar.sh only provides us with your email address to issue your license key.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use anonymous product events to understand feature adoption, reliability, activation, and purchase funnels. The only personal information we hold is the email address used for purchase. We use that address strictly to:

  • Verify your active subscription status.
  • Send receipts or important service updates regarding the extension.
  • Provide customer support when requested.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. Anonymous product events are processed by PostHog in the United States, and necessary purchase information is processed by Polar.sh. We use these providers only to operate and improve the service.

5. Your Rights

You can disable anonymous analytics in the extension settings, which deletes the local analytics identifier and queued events. If you have purchased a license, you may request deletion of your email from our licensing database; doing so will invalidate premium access. Since we do not possess your chat data, we cannot furnish or delete it because it remains solely on your device.
